About Me

Hi!

Welcome to my blog, and thanks for stopping by. I’m Karen. I’m a travel blogger, wannabe photographer, list writer, travel planner, story teller, day-dreamer and creator of karenallovertheworld.com.

This blog is for part-time travellers who, like me, want to explore the world, whilst still holding down a day job. I believe it’s entirely possible to do just that.

I haven’t been everywhere but it’s on my list

I have a chronic case of wanderlust and when I’m not travelling, I’m planning my next trip or impatiently counting the days until I set off on my next adventure.

I write about the places I’ve been, the things I’ve seen and the lessons I’ve learned.

I’m a huge fan of solo travel but I also love holidaying with friends and family, sometimes for a day, sometimes for a week or 2, occasionally for a month, and every so often, my travels last a little bit longer.

I haven’t been all over the world. Yet. But that’s the plan, and I’d love you to come along for the ride.

Have a look at my destinations page to read about where I’ve been so far, or why not jump straight in and check out my travels stories?

Countries I’ve visited

Australia, Austria, The Bahamas, Cambodia, Croatia, Cuba, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, England, Fiji, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, The Netherlands, Northern Ireland, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Scotland, Slovenia, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, United States, Vietnam, Wales.

More about me..
.

I grew up in a small sea-side town on the South West Coast of Scotland, before moving to Glasgow in my early 20’s to experience city living.

I spent my late teens and early 20’s holidaying twice a year in Greece, Turkey and Cyprus (think Malia, Faliraki, Marmaris, Ayia Napa) and had an absolute whale of a time partying until the sun came up.

In 2009, I took my first American road trip. That’s when I realised that the ‘eat, sleep, rave, repeat’ holiday formula was no longer working for me.  That’s when the travel bug really kicked in.
